The direct link
In your Google Business Profile (search for your business on Google or open Google Maps signed in) there's an Ask for reviews option that gives you a short link. Whoever opens it lands straight on the rating box. Save it as a quick reply in WhatsApp Business.
The moment
- When the customer thanks you on WhatsApp: the best signal there is.
- When you finish a job or deliver an order.
- After a regular customer's second or third visit.
Never right after a complaint, even a resolved one: wait a few days.
Messages to copy
- "Thanks, {name}. If you're happy with the work, a Google review would really help us; it takes a minute: {link}"
- "Hi {name}, how's everything with {job}? If you're happy, would you leave us a review here? {link}. And if anything isn't right, tell me first."
- "{name}, one more thing: we're a small business and reviews are how people find us. If you have a minute: {link}. Thank you!"
What isn't allowed
Doing it without remembering
The message isn't the hard part; remembering to send it is. An AI agent on your WhatsApp spots when a customer is happy ("all perfect, thanks") and drafts the review request with your link for you to send. If the customer complains, it asks for nothing and hands you the conversation.
Frequently asked questions
Can I ask lots of customers for reviews at once?
You can, one by one or via a broadcast to customers who have your number saved. Personal messages get far more replies.
Can I ask for five stars?
Better not. Ask for an honest opinion; conditioning the rating breaks Google's rules.
Should I reply to reviews?
Yes. Reply to each review from your Business Profile, and to negative ones calmly, offering to talk privately.
How often can I remind them?
One request and at most one reminder.
