Meta Verified in the WhatsApp Business app
Where it's available, it appears in the app under Business tools › Meta Verified. It's a monthly subscription: Meta checks the business's identity against documents and, if approved, your profile shows the blue tick, gets extra impersonation protection and access to support. Typical requirements: an active account, business details that match official documents and often a website. Check current terms in the app.
The official business account on the API
If you use the WhatsApp Business API, you can request official business account status in Meta's WhatsApp Manager or through your provider. Meta grants it to notable brands, with press coverage and people searching for their name. For most small businesses the answer is no for now, and you can reapply later.
Is it worth it?
- Yes, if people impersonate you or your customers are wary of messaging an unknown number.
- Less so, if customers already know you and message after seeing your Google profile or ad: they care more about a quick reply.
What you can do for free
- A complete business profile: logo, description, hours, address, website and email.
- The same name as on your Google profile and website.
- A click-to-chat link from your website, so people start the chat from somewhere that's clearly yours.
- Fast, helpful replies: nothing builds trust like an answer within minutes.
